About Us

Overview
The Church of the Good Shepherd is an inclusive, Christ-centered community located in the heart of downtown Rocky Mount. For over 160 years, we have understood ourselves to be a part of the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement, believing in a loving, life-giving, and liberating God.

Worship
We experience God’s love in our weekly worship which is focused on the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, follows the liturgy of the Book of Common Prayer, and offers spiritually nourishing and challenging sermons. Please join us on Sundays at either the 8 am or 10:30 am services, or mid week on Wednesdays at noon.

Daily Life
We strive to recognize the work of the life-giving God in our lives by studying the Holy Scriptures of the Bible, deepening our faith in Jesus, and wrestling with our doubts.

Service
We want to be the face of the liberating power of God in our community, working for justice and peace for all people.
