Day School Welcome - A Word from Our Director

Welcome to Good Shepherd Day School: Child Care & Preschool

We are glad you are here. Our mission is to provide quality, developmentally appropriate care for children of working parents. We serve children from six weeks old to five years and have been serving the twin counties for over fifty years.   The Director of our program has been employed with the school for over 25 years and provides a stable and solid environment for children, teachers and parents. Please explore our pages here and call to meet our director and to take a tour of our program and facility.

Our hours of operation are 7:00a to 5:30p and we provide breakfast, lunch and snack for all our children.  We serve a healthy and well-balanced lunch in the Day School Cafeteria where children begin to learn table manners.

We follow what is called "enhanced" teacher to student ratios making us one of few programs in the city providing such enhanced care.

Chapel services for our preschool classes are held each week and led by members of the church clergy.  Music class is led by the the church music director and regular "extra curricular" opportunities are provided.  At different times there are classes in French, Spanish, Karate, and regular reading programs sponsored by our local library.

One of the gifts of our program is our location.  We are located directly across the street from the Imperial Centre complex and Braswell Memorial Library.  The Imperial Centre houses our city's children's museum and arts center.  The library has an amazing collection of children's material and regularly offers group programs for children in which the Day School participates.  Other field trips are held on a regular basis.
