Goals for Our Children:
1) To provide appropriate play experiences that contribute to the developmental needs of Children.
2) Provide opportunities for meaningful play, based on the children's individual needs, interests, abilities and challenges that build important foundations for future reading skills and other academic pursuits
3) Provide opportunities for being with other children in a setting conductive to the development of wholesome social relationships.
At Good Shepherd you will see:
-
No lines to stand in
-
Only games to play
-
No patterns to follow
-
Only materials with which to create
-
No complicated, abstract meanings that the child cannot comprehend
-
Only ideas and things to talk about, relate to, compare with, match, fit into, try out, reinforce, invent, discover, and enjoy.
Yet at all times children are being continuously challenged by specific learning goals that we have set for them.
Our program is geared toward helping children develop habits of observation, questioning, and listening. They learn that they are free to make choices, as long as they stay within the limits of consideration for people and things. An open-ended program prepares children to use their intellectual and creative abilities in future learning talks.
Our day begins at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. Children are provided breakfast, lunch and snacks.
Please call us for an appointment to talk further and to stop by and see our creative space.
