It is time to sign up for Good Shepherd's next overseas youth mission trip to Costa Rica, June 13 – June 20, 2010!
The Diocese of Costa Rica is the companion diocese of The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina. It is the intention to have a youth trip every other year at Good Shepherd with the off years being dedicated to adult mission work. As you know, adults from Good Shepherd traveled to Costa Rica last April for a week of medical and construction mission work, fellowship, and fun with the people of Limon, Costa Rica.
We will be painting the Saint Mark’s School on this youth mission trip. The youth are also collecting shoes to be distributed from the Salvation Army in Limon 2000. Limon 2000 is an impoverished area on the outskirts of Limon. Our youth will be working with the youth of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, Saint Frances Episcopal Church and Saint Joseph Episcopal Church.
Monday through Thursday of our week will be dedicated to work and fellowship. We will leave Limon on Friday traveling to the central part of Costa Rica for a Rain Forest Zip Line tour, Poas Volcano tour, and Doka Coffee Plantation tour. We will return home on Sunday, June 20th.
This trip is for Good Shepherd Youth who will be rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. To sign up, please click here to make the initial trip payment of $250 via credit card, or complete the registration form below and mail a check for $250 to:
