Costa Rica 2008
2010 Youth Pilgrimage to Costa Rica

Youth Mission Trip to Costa Rica
June 13 – June 20, 2010!

You can Support the Youth Mission Trip to Costa Rica

Stock to help support our youth in their mission work in Costa Rica is now available to purchase on our website at the online giving center.  Please support our youth, Jordan Harrison, Westray Hicks, and Sara Worth Hodges, as they prepare for their trip to paint and make repairs on St. Mark's School in Limon, by purchasing stock in the trip, and keeping them in your prayers!

The Diocese of Costa Rica is the companion diocese of The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina.  It is the intention to have a youth trip every other year at Good Shepherd with the off years being dedicated to adult mission work.  Adults from Good Shepherd traveled to Costa Rica last April for a week of medical and construction mission work, fellowship, and fun with the people of Limon, Costa Rica.

For this year's youth trip we will be painting the Saint Mark’s School on this youth mission trip.    The youth are also collecting shoes to be distributed from the Salvation Army in Limon 2000.  Limon 2000 is an impoverished area on the outskirts of Limon.  Our youth will be working with the youth of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, Saint Frances Episcopal Church and Saint Joseph Episcopal Church.

Monday through Thursday of our week will be dedicated to work and fellowship.  We will leave Limon on Friday traveling to the central part of Costa Rica for a Rain Forest Zip Line tour, Poas Volcano tour, and Doka Coffee Plantation tour.  We will return home on Sunday, June 20th.
